Abstract:
In this LIMS Lunch Talk (discussion and presentation), we’ll explore typical questions that arise when selecting a LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System):
- Where do we stand?
- Where are we going?
- What should the new system look like?
- How can we get an idea of which system is a good fit?
- What do we need to keep in mind during the rollout?
Based on our experience from numerous projects, we know the pitfalls—but also the ways to avoid them.

Our Experts:
Senior Consultant and Business Analyst at wega Informatik (Germany) GmbH, specializing in the design, planning, and implementation of change and optimization projects. He is a certified Professional Scrum Master and Professional Product Owner (scrum.org) and has more than 25 years of experience in managing a wide variety of IT projects (specifically laboratory IT), including more than 16 years of leadership experience as an IT Director and IT Manager at an international life sciences company with over 20 laboratory sites.
Consultant at wega Informatik (Germany) GmbH, specializing in LIMS consulting and OCM.
She studied biology at Georg-August University in Göttingen and Philipps University, successfully earning a Master of Science degree.
Through her work as an IT consultant at LabWare Limited, she gained extensive knowledge of LIMS and ELN. In addition, she gained experience with various database systems and several object-oriented programming languages.
At wega, Kathrin works on various projects in the life sciences sector. She has gained additional experience in LIMS implementation, as well as in the LIMS selection process for contract and pharmaceutical laboratories, in the validation of computer systems, and in organizational change management (OCM) at a pharmaceutical company.
